Job summary

Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 3 Paediatric Phlebotomist to join the inpatient phlebotomy service. The role is permanent, full/part-time, and delivers blood sampling for children from 0–18 in wards and clinics.

A venepuncture qualification is essential and ongoing professional development is encouraged. The post covers inpatient wards and outpatient settings, with some travel to satellite paediatric clinics in South Bristol and Weston and a start date in early 2027.

Qualifications

• One of the Level 3 qualifications listed (e.g. Diploma/SCQF 6 in relevant field).
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4-9 or equivalent required.
• Experience or interest in paediatric care and blood collection.

Responsibilities

• Take blood from children and young people aged 0–18 in inpatient wards and outpatient clinics.
• Create a calm environment to help patients and carers during venepuncture.
• Travel to satellite paediatric clinics as required.
