Job summary

Greencore Group plc in Consett is recruiting a Packing Operator to join the production team in the packing area, ensuring finished meals are correctly labeled, coded and packed to customer specifications.

You will operate machines following safety and quality procedures, perform regular quality checks, assess and report anomalies, apply sleeves to finished meals, and help prepare pallets for despatch. Full training is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in a food manufacturer is preferred.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills are essential.
• Strong problem solving abilities.
• Good communicator with the ability to work in a team.
• Allergen awareness is important for product safety.
• L2 Food Safety qualification is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

Job description

In this role as a Packing Operator, you will either work in our packing area. In Packing, you will perform regular quality checks to our finished products, making sure they are completed to a high standard and preparing them for Despatch.

• Operating the machines in line with related safety and quality procedures
• Regular checking on labels, coding and packaging to ensure all products are packed to customer specification
• Asses and report anomalies and issues
• putting sleeves onto finished ready meals
• quality checking final products, making sure it's a high quality and the correct marketing has been used
• preparing pallets for Despatch

Full training will be provided if successful in this role but are looking for the following knowledge and experience:

• Experience working within a food manufacturer preferred
• Good Literacy and Numeracy skills
• Problem solving skills
• Good communicator and ability to work in a team
• Allergen awareness
• L2 Food Safety is preferred but not essential

Day Shift - Working Monday to Friday - 06:00 - 14:00, 14:00 - 22:00 rotating

Pay Rate - £12.85ph
