Job summary

Greencore Wisbech is recruiting a Factory Operative for a 4 on 4 off day shift (07:00–19:00) to help produce premium chilled ready meals. You will pack, label, and code products, follow precise specifications, and maintain hygiene and safety standards while supporting line changeovers.

Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing is desirable but not essential as full training is provided.
• Ability to follow procedures, work safely and maintain hygiene standards.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible with shift patterns.

Responsibilities

• Operate on a production line to prepare, assemble and pack food products.
• Follow specifications and work instructions to meet customer requirements.
• Conduct quality checks and report defects to the Team Leader.
• Ensure products are packed, labelled and coded correctly.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the shift.
• Assist with changeovers and keep production areas ready for operation.
• Work toward daily production targets and KPIs while following safety procedures.

What you'll be doing:

As a Factory Operative, you will play a key role in the production of high-quality chilled ready meals, ensuring products are manufactured, packed, and prepared to the highest standards of quality, food safety, and customer expectation.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where you will be working as part of a team to ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Working on a production line preparing, assembling, and packing food products.
• Following product specifications and work instructions to ensure products meet customer requirements.
• Carrying out quality checks and reporting any defects or issues to your Team Leader.
• Ensuring products are packed, labelled, and coded correctly.
• Maintaining a clean and hygienic working environment at all times.
• Supporting line changeovers and ensuring production areas are ready for operation.
• Handling food products safely and following all food safety procedures.
• Working towards daily production targets and KPIs.
• Following all Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, and GMP procedures.
• Reporting any machinery, product, or safety concerns to the relevant manager.
• Supporting colleagues and working collaboratively as part of a production team.
• Maintaining high standards of attendance, reliability, and performance.
