Job summary

CNH in Basildon is seeking a Packaging Engineering intern to support the team in developing, improving, and managing packaging solutions for production parts. You will work with returnable packaging like metal stillages and racks and assist with trials, material planning and packaging procurement to ensure availability.

The role involves quality investigations and continuous improvement activities, collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering or supply chain field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; SAP and AutoCAD are beneficial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Interest in manufacturing and packaging systems.
• Willing to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with Kaizen/Continuous Improvement beneficial.
• 1-year fixed-term internship with potential extension.

Responsibilities

• Support packaging improvement projects to reduce part damage and waste.
• Assist design, evaluation and implementation of returnable packaging solutions.
• Support packaging trials, validations and packaging card updates.
• Assist with material planning to meet production volumes and demand.
• Create and maintain SAP purchase orders and support procurement.
• Monitor returnable packaging assets and rack/container availability.
• Investigate packaging-related quality issues and identify root causes.
• Collaborate with Production, Logistics, Quality, Purchasing and Engineering for CI projects.
