Job summary

Heineken UK Supply Chain in Tadcaster is seeking an Area Manager / Line Leader (Packaging) to lead and develop a high‑performing autonomous line team. You’ll drive safety, quality and cost within budget while applying TPM toolbox and continuous improvement to sustain performance.

The role involves end‑to‑end packaging operations, reporting on KPI performance, planning shifts, and developing operators and team leaders.

Qualifications

• Experience on high-speed packaging lines.
• People management experience.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on health and safety.
• Experience using continuous improvement tools and systems in production.
• Natural problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement, monitor, and report Heineken Safety and Food Safety standards, behaviours, and procedures across packaging operations, including outsourced activities.
• Ensure compliance with HEINEKEN and local safety standards and procedures; lead risk assessments, BBS execution, and safety investigations.
• Maintain all quality indicators, implement APM step 5, process compliance audits, Hiquest follow-up, and proactively address quality risks.
• Develop and train team leaders and operators on packaging quality control; initiate improvement teams, RCFA’s, and support NPI management.
• Embed TPM methodology and Shopfloor Excellence; drive pillar agendas, audits, and strategy initiatives; improve OTIF and sustainability metrics.
• Manage packaging equipment lifecycle, reliability, maintenance, and Capex project support; ensure DCS, PM cycles, and HACS are implemented.
• Support the Packaging Manager in team management, recruitment, performance management, and career development according to Heineken procedures.
• Provide clear reporting on packaging performance and KPIs; plan shift staffing and resources, monitor execution, and adjust priorities daily.
