Job summary

YMCA Reading is seeking a Night Housing Support Assistant to help keep young residents safe and supported during the night shift. The role requires calm, proactive problem-solving and strong communication with service users and staff, working on a 21:15 to 08:15 four-on-four-off rota.

You will perform safety checks, manage incidents, and provide accurate handovers, all while representing YMCA Reading with professionalism in resident interactions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stay calm under pressure and think on your feet.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Experience working with vulnerable clients is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Overnight health and safety checks to keep facilities in good condition.
• Handle deliveries and assist with housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Conduct site safety patrols and address issues as they arise.
