Job summary

YMCA Trinity Group is seeking an Accommodation Night Worker to provide essential overnight support at Queen Anne House in Cambridge. You will help ensure safety and wellbeing, maintaining a welcoming, secure environment for 16-25-year-olds and upholding safeguarding standards.

You will respond to incidents, support positive behaviours and work as part of a compassionate team to empower residents to reach their full potential.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people with complex needs, although not necessarily in a housing context.
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to build rapport and engage with a diverse range of individuals.
• Good organisational abilities, capable of managing a range of tasks while remaining calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate as part of a team.
• A positive, confident approach to managing challenging behaviour.
• A solid understanding of current mental health issues and the ability to support young people in a sensitive, empathetic manner.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the night-time operations of the accommodation.
• Maintain a visible presence on the premises and respond to incidents as needed.
• Foster an atmosphere of warmth, security and respect to help residents feel at home and supported.
