YMCA DownsLink Group in West Sussex is seeking a Housing Night Worker for Horsham Y Centre. You will respond to incidents, provide night-time support, and help maintain a safe, calm environment for residents.

The role involves lone-working, safeguarding responsibilities, administration tasks, and contributing to trauma-informed care, with full induction and ongoing training. Shifts include evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a seven-day rolling rota.

Formación

• Experience in a customer-facing role, staying calm and solutions-focused during challenging situations.
• Understanding of the needs and experiences of young people and adults at risk.
• Awareness of trauma and the ability to work in a strengths-based, compassionate way.
• Confidence in accurate record-keeping, including incident logs and health and safety checks.
• Basic safeguarding knowledge (training provided).

Responsabilidades

• Provide a friendly, professional presence and ensure the building remains safe, secure and welcoming at night.
• Uphold health and safety procedures, house rules and tenancy requirements.
• Monitor risks and respond to incidents calmly and report to relevant teams.
• Log maintenance issues to keep the building safe and well maintained.
• Work collaboratively on a four-on, four-off rota providing consistent overnight support.
