Job summary

YMCA DownsLink Group is seeking a Housing Mobile Night Worker to provide floating support across our housing services in Brighton, Hove and Worthing. You will work nights on a four-on, four-off pattern, start and finish shifts in Brighton, and cover break shifts at 24-hour properties when needed.

Key duties include property visits, safeguarding reporting, CCTV monitoring and health & safety compliance, with emphasis on supporting young people (16–25) and reducing antisocial behaviour.

Qualifications

• Full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience working with young people (16–25) and vulnerable individuals.
• Ability to work largely alone and make decisions.
• Good IT and keyboard skills; clear verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Visit properties across Brighton, Hove and Worthing during shifts.
• Maintain a safe, secure and supportive environment.
• Carry out building checks and monitor CCTV.
• Report safeguarding concerns and ensure health and safety compliance.
• Conduct one-to-one interventions with young people as needed.
• Deescalate volatile situations and manage challenging behaviour.
• Attend induction and shadow shifts to gain confidence.
