Job summary

Turning Point is extending its Recovery Lounge in Manchester to provide overnight support for adults experiencing mental health crises. The Overnight Recovery Worker will help triage, support emotional distress, and work with teams to empower service users toward positive next steps.

The role emphasizes compassionate, person-centred care in a night-time service, with a strong focus on documentation, GDPR compliance, and collaborative working with partner agencies.

Qualifications

• Experience in mental health, health and social care, or related support work.
• A relevant qualification, lived experience, or strong personal interest in mental health.
• Ability to stay calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Genuine desire to support people to achieve positive outcomes.
• Empathetic, patient, non-judgemental and supportive approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, recovery-focused support to individuals in crisis.
• Assist with triage, risk assessments, safety planning and de-escalation.
• Create a safe, welcoming environment for all service users.
• Support service users to identify positive next steps for recovery.
• Maintain accurate and timely records in line with GDPR and policy.
• Collaborate with colleagues and partner agencies for best outcomes.
• Assist with general duties to maintain a comfortable environment.
