Job summary
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks is seeking a Craftsperson to join our team and support construction, connections and repairs across overhead and underground networks up to 11/33kV. You will prioritise personal and team safety while delivering reliable network services.
Based in Oban, Dunoon or Lochgilphead, the role requires outdoor work in all weather, standby duties and occasional overnight stays, with opportunities to develop LV/HV switching authorisations.
Qualifications
- Experience in the UK electricity industry around overhead lines or underground cables.
- Electrical experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to work at heights is desirable.
- Strong commitment to safety and promoting a positive safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Carry out construction, new connection and repair work across LV to 11/33kV.
- Ensure personal and team safety and promote a safety culture.
- Work outdoors in all weather, participate in standby duties and occasional overnight stays.
- Travel to Training Facility in Perth for courses.
- Develop LV/HV switching authorisations with progression toward SAP authorisation.
