Job summary

SP Energy Networks is seeking a Craftsperson (Electrician) to construct, maintain and repair LV electrical installations across Central & Southern Scotland. You will work on‑site, complying with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, delivering quality work, handling fault management and safety, and developing skills in substations.

The role requires a Craft Apprenticeship, 18th Edition certification, and an ECS/JIB card, with a driving licence and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certification.
• Completed Craft Apprenticeship or equivalent training.
• Valid ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) card or JIB grading (or equivalent scheme).
• Full valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain, and repair LV electrical installations in full compliance with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Deliver all works to established productivity levels while carrying out effective fault management.
• Undertake and develop appropriate skills for working in substations, contributing as an effective member of Energy Networks.
• Ensure all site works are carried out safely, acting as the nominated person in charge of safety.
