Job summary

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks is seeking a Craftsperson to join our team in Scotland. The role involves construction, connections and repairs across overhead and underground networks up to 11/33kV, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

You will work outdoors in all weather, participate in standby duties, and may require overnight stays. Training at Perth is provided to develop LV/HV authorisations and progression to SAP authorisation.

Qualifications

Experience in UK electricity industry involving overhead lines or underground cables is desirable.
Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
Strong commitment to safety and proactive culture adherence.
Clear communication of technical information to different audiences.
Enthusiasm, drive and flexible approach to work in changing priorities.
Able to handle physically demanding tasks and standby rota requirements.

Responsibilities

Carry out construction, new connections and repair work across overhead and underground networks up to 11/33kV.
Prioritise personal and team safety and promote a strong safety culture in all activities.
Work outdoors in all weather, with standby duties and possible overnight stays.
Travel to the Training Facility in Perth for courses.
Develop LV/HV switching authorisations with progression toward SAP authorisation.
