Job summary
SSE plc in Scotland seeks a Craftsperson to join an expanding team, with base options Oban, Dunoon or Lochgilphead. You will carry out construction, new connections and repairs on overhead and underground networks up to 11/33kV, while upholding a strong safety culture and personal accountability.
Expect outdoor work in all weather, standby duties, possible overnight stays, and travel to Perth for training. Progression toward LV/HV authorisations and SAP is available, with a valid UK driving
Qualifications
- Experience in UK electricity industry around overhead lines or underground cables.
- Ability to work at heights and travel for training.
- Strong commitment to safety and promoting a positive safety culture.
- Clear and effective communication of technical information.
- Willingness to participate in standby rota and adapt to priorities.
- Hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
Responsibilities
- Carry out construction, new connection and repair work across overhead and underground networks up to 11/33kV.
- Take responsibility for personal safety and the safety of colleagues.
- Work outdoors in all weather, with standby duties and possible overnight stays.
- Travel to the Training Facility in Perth for courses.
- Develop skills toward LV/HV switching authorisations and SAP progression.
