Job summary

Qualifications

• AAT/ACCA/ACA qualified, or finalist.
• Solid outsourcing or accounts experience in a practice.
• Confident reviewing bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts.
• Strong client-facing communication skills.
• Experience mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts.
• Ensure timely delivery of client deliverables and compliance with deadlines.
• Liaise with clients and external vendors to resolve queries promptly.
• Assist in onboarding new clients and setting up accounting systems.
• Monitor team performance and support training and development.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Outsourcing Supervisor - About the Firm

This is a long-established, multi-office firm of accountants and business advisors in the North West, combining a partner-led, relationship-first approach with the backing of private equity investment fuelling an ambitious growth strategy across the group. The firm is investing heavily in technology, training, and acquisitions, and this Supervisor role has been created to strengthen the outsourcing team as portfolio volumes grow - giving the successful candidate real scope to shape how the service is delivered.

Outsourcing Supervisor - Responsibilities

Client Portfolio Oversight

• Review and approve bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts
• Ensure timely delivery of client deliverables and compliance with deadlines

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Liaise with clients and external vendors to resolve queries promptly
• Assist in onboarding new clients and setting up accounting systems

Team Development

• Monitor team performance and support training and development

Process & Advisory

• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Prepare KPI reports and elevate issues to senior management
• Handle ad hoc advisory tasks under manager supervision

Outsourcing Supervisor - Requirements

• AAT/ACCA/ACA qualified, or finalist
• Solid practice-based outsourcing or accounts experience
• Confident reviewing bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts
• Strong client-facing communication skills
• Comfortable supporting and mentoring junior staff
• Experience with cloud accounting systems (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks)
