Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA qualified with strong post-qualification experience in practice.
• Experience managing an outsourcing or accounts portfolio.
• Staff management and mentoring experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and HMRC compliance.
• Commercially astute with experience owning WIP and billing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a diverse outsourcing portfolio as primary client contact.
• Oversee and sign off bookkeeping, VAT returns, management accounts, and month-end close.
• Present management accounts with commentary, insights, and recommendations.
• Identify and deliver advisory opportunities such as process enhancement and finance transformation.
• Manage and develop outsourcing seniors and juniors, including capacity planning and performance reviews.
• Drive process improvements, standardisation, and automation across the team.
• Monitor budgets, WIP, billing, and profitability to ensure commercial performance.
• Oversee system implementation and optimisation projects.
• Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and HMRC rules across the portfolio.

Outsourcing Manager - Liverpool - To £55,000

This is a long-established, multi-office firm of accountants and business advisors in the North West, growing both organically and by carefully selected acquisitions. This growth has created a Manager opening in the Outsourcing Department, as the client base and team expand, with the firm investing heavily in technology and training while retaining a genuinely partner-led, client-first culture.

Outsourcing Manager - Responsibilities

Portfolio Leadership

• Lead and manage a diverse outsourcing portfolio as primary client contact
• Oversee and sign off bookkeeping, VAT returns, management accounts, and month-end close

Client Advisory

• Present management accounts with commentary, insights, and recommendations
• Identify and deliver advisory opportunities such as process enhancement and finance transformation

Team & Leadership Development

• Manage and develop outsourcing seniors and juniors, including capacity planning and performance reviews

Commercial & Process Ownership
