Outreach Worker - SEN School in Leigh, Wigan

Prospero Teaching is recruiting for an Outreach Worker in a lively and supportive SEN school in Leigh, Wigan. The role involves supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues, as well as engaging with the community.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Taking attendance in the mornings and liaising with parents about absences.
  2. Providing support work in the community.
  3. Collaborating with social services and other agencies to support young people.
  4. Applying behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies to manage behaviour and facilitate engagement with the curriculum.
  5. Referring to individual education and health care plans (EHCPs) for each young person.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a full UK driving license and have access to a personal vehicle, with willingness to obtain business insurance.
  • Must hold the right to work in the UK.
  • Must have an enhanced child DBS certificate registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Provide two professional references related to child work.
