Cover People are recruiting an enthusiastic SEMH Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join the Outreach Team of a secondary SEMH school in Salford. You’ll work with young people who may need additional support with behaviour, engagement, confidence and accessing education. NB.

Driver required for this role. Based in Eccles, Salford, the role is full-time, Monday to Friday, paying £110–£120 per day DOE. Start date ASAP, with paid PAYE and weekly wages; you will join a dedicated team and have access to

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
• Work with Outreach Team to support pupils in and out of normal classroom settings.
• Build positive relationships and encourage engagement with education.
• Support pupils displaying challenging behaviour, staying calm and patient.
• Help pupils develop confidence, resilience, and independence.
• Use positive behaviour strategies to improve engagement and learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and pastoral staff to meet pupil needs.

Are you a qualified Level 2 Teaching Assistant who enjoys building positive relationships with young people? Do you have experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs and the resilience to handle challenging situations calmly?

Cover People are recruiting an enthusiastic SEMH Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join the Outreach Team of a secondary SEMH school in Salford. You’ll work with young people who may need additional support with behaviour, engagement, confidence and accessing education. NB. Driver required for this role.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to secondary-aged pupils with SEMH needs.
• Work as part of the school’s Outreach Team to support pupils both within and beyond the main classroom environment.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with young people and encourage engagement with education.
• Support pupils who may display challenging behaviour, remaining calm, patient and consistent.
• Help pupils develop confidence, resilience, emotional regulation and independence.
• Use positive behaviour strategies to encourage engagement and reduce barriers to learning.
• Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the wider Outreach Team to support pupils’ needs.
• Adapt your approach to suit individual pupils and their circumstances.

The Ideal Candidate:

• L2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience working with young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour or additional needs.
• Resilient, patient and calm when dealing with difficult situations.
• Confident building strong relationships with secondary-aged pupils.
• A positive and consistent approach to behaviour support.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
• Flexible, proactive and willing to get involved wherever support is needed.
• A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers and make progress.
