Job summary

Gi Group is hiring Meter Readers to collect data from gas, electricity and water meters for both commercial and residential properties across the UK. You will use a handheld device to record readings and provide excellent customer service on each site.

No prior experience is required and you will receive full training. Expect 40–45 hour weeks with flexible start/end times (Mon-Fri, occasional Sat) and potential for progression, bonuses, and a company car.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service is preferred but not essential.
• Must have manual UK driving licence with 1 year minimum, 6 points max, no DR offences.
• Physically fit to bend, lift, kneel and walk 4–5 miles daily.
• Clear DBS check with no unspent convictions and no county court judgments in last 6 years.
• 5 years employment history required.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve data from domestic, commercial and industrial meters (Gas, Water, Electricity).
• Carry out visual inspections of metering equipment.
• Conduct Charge Point Surveys.
• Drive and work independently with a proactive attitude.
• Maintain safety and adhere to Health and Safety guidelines at all times.
• Provide excellent customer service at all locations.
