Job summary

Scout Adventures Fordell Firs in Dunfermline is seeking a Centre Manager to oversee the centre’s performance, development and guest experience. You will lead operations, manage budgets, and drive growth while collaborating with Scouts Scotland and external partners.

You’ll lead staff and volunteers, ensure safety and quality, and deliver inspiring outdoor programmes. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and travel is required.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of best practice in outdoor learning and adventure.
• Experience in an outdoor education centre or Scouting activity centre.
• Proven track record in delivering customer service and achieving business targets.
• Strong commercial awareness and budget management experience.
• Experience leading staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operation of the centre, including staff, budgets and resources.
• Lead, develop and inspire staff and volunteers while upholding Scouts Scotland values.
• Oversee delivery of high-quality programmes, activities and customer experiences.
• Develop and implement the centre’s operational plan aligned with organisational priorities.
• Identify opportunities to increase bookings and income from Scouting and non-Scouting customers.
• Ensure health and safety standards and maintain AALA accreditation.
