Job summary

Careium UK is seeking empathetic Out of Hours Call Handlers to support local authorities, housing associations and partners outside regular hours. You will manage urgent calls, coordinate responses and document details using multiple systems.

The role requires a calm, compassionate approach, strong communication and the ability to work rotating shifts between 5:00pm and 9:00am. Full training will be provided, and opportunities for progression are available.

Qualifications

• Full training will be provided.
• Experience in care, housing or local authority services is beneficial.
• Strong listening skills and calm demeanor under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Handle urgent inbound calls professionally and calmly.
• Assess situations and follow procedures to reach safe outcomes.
• Support callers who may be distressed or vulnerable.
• Arrange responses via emergency contacts, contractors and partners.
• Record information accurately in internal systems.
• Monitor alarm activations and automated alerts.
• Take prompt action and escalate where needed.
• Provide guidance and support to customers and service users.
