Job summary

City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Duty Team within the Independent Living Service. You will triage referrals, complete strengths-based assessments, identify risks and provide immediate advice to ensure residents receive the right support promptly.

This role offers flexible and virtual ways of working with no long-term caseload, enabling you to develop advanced clinical reasoning and risk management while helping people maintain

Qualifications

• Must be a registered Occupational Therapist.
• DBS check is required.
• Experience in triage or community OT is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Triage Occupational Therapy and Independent Living referrals.
• Complete telephone and virtual assessments.
• Identify levels of risk and urgency.
• Provide advice, information and self-management strategies.
• Recommend equipment, adaptations and assistive technology.
• Support timely interventions to prevent crises and promote independence.
• Collaborate with community OT, Reablement, Health, Housing and Adult Social Care colleagues.
• Direct people to the most appropriate pathway and support at the earliest opportunity.
