Job summary

City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Duty Team within the Independent Living Service. You will triage referrals, complete strengths-based assessments, identify risks and provide immediate advice to ensure residents receive the right support promptly.

This role offers flexible and virtual ways of working with no long-term caseload, enabling you to develop advanced clinical reasoning and risk management while helping people maintain

Qualifications

• Must be a registered Occupational Therapist.
• DBS check is required.
• Experience in triage or community OT is desirable.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Duty Team within Wolverhampton's Independent Living Service.

This is not a traditional caseload-based OT role.

As a Duty Occupational Therapist, you will be part of a small, supportive team of experienced therapists who are the front door to Occupational Therapy and Independent Living Services. Every day brings something new. You'll use your professional judgement to triage referrals, complete strengths-based assessments, identify risks, provide immediate advice and guidance, and ensure residents receive the most appropriate support as quickly as possible.

Our working arrangements

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empower employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocated where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location.
