Job summary

Unipart Manufacturing in Coventry seeks an Operational Technology Engineer to manage and secure the industrial automation infrastructure across manufacturing operations. You will bridge IT networks and ICS to ensure reliability, low latency, and strong cyber security defenses.

The role focuses on OT network design, ICS management, and implementing security strategies per IEC 62443/NIST/ISO 27001 standards in a fast-paced scale-up environment.

Qualifications

• Industrial Engineering background in OT/ICS role within manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting shop-floor automation hardware.
• Practical knowledge of IEC 62443, NIST CSF, ISO 27001 security standards.
• Skilled in industrial network architecture, switches, firewalls, and fieldbus/industrial Ethernet protocols.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, installation, and maintenance of industrial control systems for reliability.
• Design and manage low-latency OT networks, secure integration with ERP/MES/data platforms.
• Implement OT cybersecurity strategies including firewalls, IDS, encryption, patch management.
