Job summary

Bilfinger UK is seeking an experienced OT Cyber Security Systems Engineer to lead the technical delivery of OT network management and cybersecurity controls within industrial environments. The role focuses on designing, implementing and testing secure systems for PLC and SCADA networks, while maintaining safety and compliance.

You will produce technical documentation, collaborate with project teams, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Experience designing OT/ICS networks and cybersecurity solutions.
• Full lifecycle involvement from specification to testing.
• Experience configuring and testing security for OT/IACS environments.
• Hardening PLC, HMI and SCADA to industry standards.
• Securing network infrastructure with segmentation, firewalls and NIDS.
• Hands-on network design using Hirschmann managed switches and firewall products.
• Network time synchronization using dedicated appliances and NTP.
• Experience with Rockwell, Det-tronics, Opto 22 etc. vendor systems.
• Strong OSI/TCP-IP knowledge and industrial protocols like EtherNet/IP.
• QMS experience with traceable project outputs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the OT network management system and cybersecurity controls for projects.
• Design, implement and test secure ICS networks.
• Produce, maintain and update design specs, test procedures and maintenance docs.
• Deploy and test PLC/SCADA networks and cybersecurity controls.
• Conduct system integration and FAT.
• Support lifecycle activities including vulnerability management and patching.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to plan and deliver cybersecurity work to schedule and quality.
• Report progress, risks and opportunities to project and commercial management.
• Provide health and safety leadership by example.
