Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an OT Cybersecurity Engineer to join a leading cyber security firm focused on the energy sector. The role centers on secure development and implementation of cybersecurity policies for Operational Technologies (OT).

Key duties include risk assessments for OT components, secure design, and improving security baselines and firmware resilience within Purdue Model levels 0-3. Strong collaboration across teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in cybersecurity with exposure to OT, ICS, or SCADA environments.
• Working knowledge of core OT security principles and ISA/IEC 62443.
• Understanding of firmware and hardware security concepts, including cryptographic signing and HSMs.
• Familiarity with sector protocols such as DNP3, IEC 60870-5-104, Modbus, and OPC UA.
• Relevant degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Certifications such as GICSP, ISA/IEC 62443 Specialist, or GRID are desirable.
• Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Support Threat and Risk Assessments for client products, solutions and services.
• Conduct OT cybersecurity risk assessments for components within solutions.
• Provide secure design and architecture support for OT projects per Purdue Model (Levels 0-3).
• Contribute to security baselines, code-signing processes and secure boot for OT systems.
• Analyse firmware vulnerabilities using appropriate tools without impacting availability.
• Support security testing throughout project lifecycle and security factory acceptance tests.
• Integrate OT asset visibility and threat detection platforms.
• Maintain compliance with ISA/IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82 and related frameworks.
• Provide cybersecurity advice to project designers, engineers and testers.
• Monitor cybersecurity target achievements and suggest improvements.
