Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Compute System Engineer to ensure OT compute systems stay compliant, secure, and aligned with industry standards. You will support lifecycle maintenance, patching, and virtualization, while collaborating with stakeholders to deliver cloud-based solutions.

In this role you will act as a key incident response contact, design infrastructure changes, and maintain security through audits.

Qualifications

• SC level security clearance required or desirable.
• Familiarity with OT/IT delivery frameworks (ITIL, Agile, Waterfall, Lean).
• Experience maintaining, patching and supporting large-scale enterprise infrastructure (>20,000 devices).
• Experience with Active Directory, SCCM, VMware and Azure cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and patch OT compute infrastructure with lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver new technical solutions including cloud-based tech.
• Serve as incident response contact and resolve issues quickly.
• Design and implement infrastructure changes with high- and low-level designs.
• Ensure security compliance through audits and proactive management.
• Assist in updates across OS, applications, BIOS and hypervisors.
• Support a 24/7 on-call standby for critical OT systems.
• Coordinate with other tech teams to deploy infrastructure improvements.
• Stay current with industry best practices and act as SME in compute domain.
