An established industry player in healthcare is seeking a Specialty Registrar for a fixed-term contract in Trauma and Orthopaedics. There are three strong departments within surgical services in the directorate: Orthopaedics, Urology, and General Surgery. These posts will ensure the delivery of education and service within the directorate. Three posts are available in Trauma and Orthopaedics. The Orthopaedics department includes 15 Consultants, 13 registrars, and a junior team comprising Core Surgical Trainees, FY2s, and Trust grades SHO. The department is also supported by Consultant Orthogeriatricians.
Croydon Health Services provide hospital and community services across Croydon, including Croydon University Hospital, Purley War Memorial Hospital, and others. The Trust was formed in August 2010 and employs around 4,500 staff serving a diverse population of over 340,000. The post holder will supervise SHOs and FY1s, undertake regular ward rounds, and manage clinics (elective and fracture) and theatre lists (elective and trauma). There is a strong emphasis on audit, research, and teaching, with numerous educational opportunities. Participation in these activities is encouraged. Progressing post holders may extend their contracts and rotate through different department teams.
