Background to the Post: This role provides resident cover and experience at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Initial contracts are for 6 months, extendable to 12 months or longer based on performance and vacancies. Rotations to other sites may be available.
Summary: The ICU senior clinical fellow will join the registrar grade, providing full on-call cover including weekends and nights. Airway experience is essential.
During duty, the resident reviews and manages ICU patients under supervision, part of a multidisciplinary team, performing procedures, liaising with teams, updating relatives, and supporting ICU nursing staff.
All junior staff work closely with consultants and are expected to supervise and train medical students and junior doctors attached to the ICU.
Outline Timetable: Twice daily multidisciplinary ward rounds, weekly MDTs, daily meetings with infectious diseases/microbiology, with shifts from 9.5 to 13 hours, averaging less than 48 hours/week. The service operates 7 days a week.

Background to the Post: Provides resident cover and experience, initially 6 months, possibly extended. Rotations to other sites may be available.

Duties and Responsibilities: Manage ICU patients under supervision, perform procedures, liaise with teams, update relatives, and support nursing staff. Participate in supervision and training of medical students attached to ICU.
Outline Timetable: Multidisciplinary rounds, weekly MDTs, daily infectious diseases/microbiology meetings, with shifts from 9.5 to 13 hours, averaging less than 48 hours/week. Full 7-day service.
Additional educational activities include M&M meetings, weekly teaching, journal clubs, quality and safety meetings, governance meetings, and grand rounds.
Induction and training are provided, including network transfer and BASIC courses at no cost. The trust offers various courses in management and IT, and access to ALS courses.
On-call pattern includes full or partial shifts, with night shifts expected no more than once in six nights.
Exceptional candidates may be considered for specialist fellowships (neuro, teaching/simulation, echo, FUSIC, Heart and Lung/BSE). The role can be standalone or as an Out of Programme Experience (OOPE) with prior approval. GMC registration is required; previous ICU/anaesthetics experience (>12 months) and postgraduate exams are essential.
