Job summary

Hiddenwell is seeking an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager for the Orangery at Ardencote Hotel & Spa, Warwickshire. You will lead the restaurant team on the floor, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and strong service standards.

You will mentor and develop staff, run pre-shift briefings, and maintain rigorous compliance with hygiene and safety. A hands-on leader will thrive, supporting engagement and delivering revenue growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory/managerial role within hospitality (restaurant, hotel or high-quality environment).
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations and service standards.
• Genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Experience leading, motivating and developing a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident handling of guest feedback and resolving issues.
• Good commercial awareness with an understanding of sales, payroll and cost control.
• Excellent organisational skills and calm presence during busy services.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, allergens and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the restaurant team during service and uphold high standards.
• Create a warm, welcoming and memorable guest experience.
• Coach, motivate and develop the team through regular feedback and training.
• Run effective pre-shift briefings covering VIPs, occasions, dietary needs and priorities.
• Ensure team knowledge of menus, beverages and wider hotel offer.
• Handle guest feedback professionally and resolve issues.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing development of new team members.
• Manage staffing levels and payroll in line with business needs.
• Identify opportunities to upsell and improve restaurant performance.
• Support achievement of departmental budgets and commercial targets.
• Ensure SOPs and opening/closing procedures are followed consistently.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, allergen awareness and safety.
• Take Duty Management responsibilities when required.
• Collaborate across Food & Beverage and the wider property to deliver excellent guest experience.
