Job summary

Ardencote Hotel & Spa seeks an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager for the Orangery to lead service, coach the team and ensure exceptional guest experiences. You will work closely with the Restaurant Manager to drive standards and contribute to a warm, memorable dining environment.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and a proactive approach to coaching, recruitment and development within a high-quality hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervisory or management role in restaurant or hotel.

Responsibilities

• Lead the restaurant team during service and uphold high standards.
• Create a warm, welcoming guest experience.
• Coach and train the team with regular feedback.
• Run pre-shift briefings covering VIPs, occasions, dietary needs, menus.
• Ensure knowledge of menus, beverages, and hotel offerings.
• Handle guest feedback and resolve issues professionally.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of new teammates.
• Manage staffing levels and payroll in line with business needs.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales and upsell.
• Support achievement of budgets and commercial targets.
• Ensure SOPs and opening/closing procedures are followed.
• Maintain food hygiene, cleanliness, health & safety, and allergen awareness.
• Take Duty Management responsibilities when required.
• Collaborate with colleagues across F&B and the wider property to deliver an excellent guest experience.
