Job summary

Specsavers Reigate is seeking an Optical Assistant to welcome customers and help with their optical needs. You will receive extensive training and work with experienced Opticians and Technicians to grow your skills.

We offer 40 hours per week, weekends included, no late nights, a pension scheme, Specsavers Perks, WeCare support, Headspace subscription, eyecare and hearcare discounts, and an extra paid day off on your birthday.

Qualifications

  • Customer-focused experience in retail or optics.
  • Willingness to learn and develop in optical duties.
  • Basic knowledge of optical terminology is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and assist with their optical needs.
  • Support opticians and technicians on the shop floor.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities.

Our store

Specsavers Reigate is a customer-focused opticians providing a range of professional eye-care and hearing services to the local community. The store offers eye examinations, sight tests, contact lens consultations and fittings, as well as the dispensing and fitting of glasses and sunglasses. The team also provides hearing tests and hearing-care services, combining professional clinical expertise with friendly, personalised customer service to help customers find the right solutions for their individual needs.

The Reigate team is a close‑knit, friendly, and highly skilled group of optical and retail professionals who take pride in delivering exceptional service to every customer. With experienced Optometrists, dedicated Dispensing professionals, and a supportive retail team, the store offers a collaborative environment where everyone works together to provide the best possible care. Colleagues are encouraged to grow, learn, and share their strengths, creating a positive atmosphere where new team members feel welcomed from day one.
