Job summary

Newmedica in Shrewsbury seeks a Service Engagement Lead to drive referrals across Shropshire and Wales. You will build strong relationships with Opticians, GPs, and local groups, promoting our ophthalmology services and patient choice while supporting business targets. Travel 2–3 days per week is expected.

You’ll be pivotal in coordinating with Joint Venture partners and the marketing team, planning events, CPD sessions, and optical fairs to strengthen engagement and visibility in the community.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, preferably optics/ophthalmology.
• Knowledge of NHS policy landscape and referral routes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Willingness to travel 2-3 days per week.
• Self-starter who can influence others.

Responsibilities

• Deliver referral volumes to meet business targets for the Ophthalmology Joint Venture (OJV).
• Actively promote Newmedica services and patient choice with local stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with Opticians, GPs, Referral Management Centres, LOCs, and others.
• Liaise as main conduit between Joint Venture Partners and the Newmedica marketing team.
• Plan events such as CPD sessions, optical fairs and national seminars to boost engagement.
