Johnson Matthey Plc in Brimsdown is seeking an Operator I: Entry Level Operator to join a world-leading team in platinum group metals. You will help ensure safe, reliable production and learn essential process operations.

No prior experience is required, but GCSEs including English, Maths and Science are essential and A-levels in engineering or science are desirable. You will work with the operations team to meet the production schedule.

Qualifications

• A-levels in engineering or science (Desirable).
• No prior experience required but interest in chemical/process industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for your own safety and follow PPE directions.
• Follow process documentation and standard work instructions.
• Support operations to meet the production schedule and deliver quality product.
• Complete batch sheets and handovers to maintain continuous production.
• Suggest process improvements within your area.

The Role

• Taking responsibility for your own safety, complying with JMs safe working practices and following PPE direction and contributing to a healthy and safe working environment
• Follow all relevant process related documentation such as risk analysis, process instructions and standard work documents
• Supporting the operations team in the skilled execution of operator activities and adhering to the production schedule to ensure the on-time delivery of quality product
• Completing all necessary batch sheets and handovers to ensure continuous production
• Making suggestions for process improvements within area of responsibility

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role

Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 GCSE's or equivalent, at Grade A* to C including English, Maths and Science - Essential
• A minimum of 2 'A' Levels, or equivalent, in an engineering or science related subject - Desirable
• No prerequisite experience required but previous experience in the chemical process industry, engineering and/or manufacturing - Desirable
• Understanding of large-scale complex manufacturing facilities/plants - Desirable
