Johnson Matthey in Brimsdown is seeking an Entry Level Operator I to join a world leader in platinum group metals. You will contribute to safe operations, support production schedules and ensure timely delivery of quality product.

No prior experience required, but GCSEs and potential A-levels in engineering or science are desirable. The role emphasizes safety, documentation and continuous improvement within a large-scale manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 GCSEs or equivalent, including English, Maths and Science.
• A minimum of 2 A-Levels, or equivalent, in an engineering or science related subject.
• No prerequisite experience required but previous experience in the chemical process industry, engineering and/or manufacturing is desirable.
• Understanding of large-scale complex manufacturing facilities/plants is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Taking responsibility for your own safety, complying with safe working practices and following PPE directions.
• Follow process-related documentation such as risk analyses, process instructions and standard work documents.
• Support the operations team in performing operator activities and adhere to the production schedule to ensure on-time delivery of quality product.
• Complete batch sheets and handovers to ensure continuous production.
• Make suggestions for process improvements within your area of responsibility.

The role:

• Taking responsibility for your own safety, complying with JMs safe working practices and following PPE direction and contributing to a healthy and safe working environment
• Follow all relevant process related documentation such as risk analysis, process instructions and standard work documents
• Supporting the operations team in the skilled execution of operator activities and adhering to the production schedule to ensure the on-time delivery of quality product
• Completing all necessary batch sheets and handovers to ensure continuous production
• Making suggestions for process improvements within area of responsibility

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role

• A minimum of 4 GCSE's or equivalent, at Grade A* to C including English, Maths and Science - Essential
• A minimum of 2 'A' Levels, or equivalent, in an engineering or science related subject - Desirable
• No prerequisite experience required but previous experience in the chemical process industry, engineering and/or manufacturing - Desirable
• Understanding of large-scale complex manufacturing facilities/plants - Desirable
