Job summary

Johnson Matthey in Brimsdown is seeking an Entry Level Operator to join the on-site manufacturing team. You will prioritize safety, follow PPE guidance and work within established process documentation to support the production schedule.

No prior experience is required, but familiarity with large-scale chemical processes or manufacturing is desirable. Training and progression opportunities are available as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (English, Maths and Science) or equivalent is required.
• A Levels in engineering or science preferred
• No prior experience required but understanding of large-scale manufacturing desirable

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for your own safety, follow PPE guidance and safe working practices.
• Follow process documentation such as risk analyses and standard work.
• Support operations team in executing operator activities and meet production schedules.
• Complete batch sheets and handovers for continuous production.
• Suggest process improvements within area of responsibility.

The role

• Taking responsibility for your own safety, complying with JMs safe working practices and following PPE direction and contributing to a healthy and safe working environment
• Follow all relevant process related documentation such as risk analysis, process instructions and standard work documents
• Supporting the operations team in the skilled execution of operator activities and adhering to the production schedule to ensure the on-time delivery of quality product
• Completing all necessary batch sheets and handovers to ensure continuous production
• Making suggestions for process improvements within area of responsibility

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role

• A minimum of 4 GCSE's or equivalent, at Grade A* to C including English, Maths and Science - Essential
• A minimum of 2 'A' Levels, or equivalent, in an engineering or science related subject - Desirable
• No prerequisite experience required but previous experience in the chemical process industry, engineering and/or manufacturing - Desirable
• Understanding of large-scale complex manufacturing facilities/plants - Desirable
