Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the successful Superdrug Supply Chain, working within one of our three busy Distribution Centres as a Team Leader.

This vacancy is for the Stead House Distribution Centre, based in Darlington. The hours will predominantly be as stated above, but flexibility across all shift patterns will be required.

About the role

A Team Leader supports the Shift Managers with daily management and coordination of site operations, leading a team within a designated area of the Distribution Centre.

Our operation at SHDC provides stock to over 300 stores across the Savers Stores Network. This is a fast-paced role in a busy environment.

A passion for results will ensure standards are maintained or exceeded. Working as “One Team” to maximize operational efficiencies, encourage growth and innovation, and ensure safe working practices, helps create a Supply Chain that makes our customers smile!

Key roles and responsibilities:

• Own all People Management issues within your area, engaging with the shift manager and people team to ensure fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
• Motivate, coach, and develop colleagues to perform effectively, utilizing training and development tools.
• Be fully accountable for nominated KPIs, communicating status regularly with the shift Manager.
• Review and develop processes to maximize efficiencies, communicating with management for implementation.
• Collaborate with the Health & Safety team to update safe systems of work and risk assessments, ensuring effective communication of changes.
• Deliver seamless shift handovers to the oncoming team.
• Provide timely updates on daily progress and resolve issues.
• Model a site culture that demonstrates company values.
• Promote good health and safety practices.
• Assist with ad hoc projects and reports; deputize as Shift Manager when needed.
• Conduct team briefings as required.
• Collaborate with fellow Team Leaders, Shift Managers, and colleagues to support business performance.
• Demonstrate excellent planning, project management, analytical, and IT skills.
• Proven management experience in a distribution environment or similar.
• Effective communication and engagement skills.
• Understanding of cost reports, operational efficiencies, and cost management.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems.
