Savers Stead House DC

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 14:00-22:00
Total Hours Per Week: 40

Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the successful Superdrug Supply Chain, working within one of our three busy Distribution Centres as a Team Leader.

This vacancy is for the Stead House Distribution Centre, based in Darlington. The hours will predominantly be as stated above, but flexibility across all shift patterns will be required.

About the role

A Team Leader supports the Shift Managers in daily management and coordination of site operations, leading a team within a designated area of the Distribution Centre.

Our operation at SHDC supplies stock to over 200 stores across the Savers network. This is a fast-paced role in a busy environment, requiring a passion for results to maintain or exceed standards.

Working as “One Team,” you'll help identify and maximize operational efficiencies, encourage growth and innovation, and ensure safe working practices to create a supply chain that makes our customers smile!

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of all People Management issues within your area, engaging with the shift manager and people team, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Motivate, coach, and develop your team to perform effectively, utilizing training and development tools.
  • Be fully accountable for KPIs related to your area, communicating status regularly with the shift manager.
  • Review and develop processes to maximize efficiencies, collaborating with management for implementation.
  • Work with Health & Safety to build, update, and communicate safe systems of work and risk assessments.
  • Deliver effective shift handovers and provide timely updates on daily progress, resolving issues as they arise.
  • Model a site culture aligned with company values and promote health & safety practices.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects, reports, and deputize as Shift Manager when needed.
  • Conduct team briefings as required.

Key skills & attributes:

  • Collaborate effectively with team members and colleagues to support business performance.
  • Excellent planning, project management, analytical, and IT skills.
  • Proven management experience in a distribution or similar environment.
  • Effective communication and engagement skills.
  • Strong people management abilities.
  • Understanding of cost reports, operational efficiencies, and cost management.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems.
