Job summary

Wolseley is seeking an Operations Support Specialist based in Chesterfield to join our Supply Chain team. You will be the first point of contact for local system issues and collaborate with stakeholders on upgrades, testing and configuration changes.

You will train end-users, produce operational reports, and identify recurring problems for the Improvement agenda. Strong Excel and Office skills, plus Lean/Six Sigma knowledge, are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Must have relevant qualification or practical experience in operations, business analysis, data/systems or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to interpret operational data.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Act as first point of contact for local operational system queries and issues.
• Support and troubleshoot local operational systems, escalate when needed.
• Assist with system upgrades, testing and configuration changes with stakeholders.
• Train and coach end-users to ensure effective system use.
• Produce operational reporting to support day‑to‑day activity and decisions.
• Identify recurring issues and feed into the Operations Improvement agenda.
• Communicate clearly technical/analytical information to non‑technical colleagues.
• Work with Excel and Office applications on operational data.
• Manage multiple tasks and priorities with strong organisation.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma or root cause analysis methods.
