Job summary

NY Highways in North Yorkshire is seeking a Scheduler to coordinate highways maintenance programmes across the region, working with operations teams, supervisors and stakeholders to plan resources and deliver safe, on-time services.

You will manage changing priorities, liaise with managers, ensure compliance with Health & Safety, and support traffic management and street works regulations. Occasional county-wide travel is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in highways maintenance or scheduling environments.
  • Strong commitment to Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental principles.
  • Understanding of good customer service.
  • Systematic and timely decision making and change management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools: Excel, Word, Project, Outlook.

  • Ensure works are planned in line with Health & Safety requirements.

Job description

As our Scheduler, you'll play a pivotal role in coordinating highways maintenance activities across North Yorkshire. Working closely with operational teams, supervisors and client stakeholders, you'll ensure work programmes are planned effectively, resources are utilised efficiently and services are delivered safely and on time.

What you'll do
  • Coordinate and programme highways maintenance activities.

  • Liaise with supervisors, managers and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure works are planned in accordance with Health & Safety requirements.
  • Support compliance with the Traffic Management Act and Street Works legislation.
  • Monitor programme delivery and help resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Occasional county-wide travel if required.
Requirements
  • Experience working within highways maintenance, construction, utilities or another operational scheduling environment.
  • Strong commitment to Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental principles.
  • Understanding and awareness of good customer service.
  • Systematic and timely approach to decision making, problem solving and change management.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.
