Job summary

Ultra Precision Control Systems, Cheltenham, UK, seeks an Operations Manager to oversee shop floor resources and drive world-class manufacturing performance. You will inspire teams, guide continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery across the plant.

You will lead projects, develop personnel, implement process controls and cost-reduction strategies while maintaining alignment with business objectives and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic.
• Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving.
• Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques experience.
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes.
• Strategic planning, business acumen and customer/commercial awareness.
• Ability to lead cross-functional process improvement teams.
• Multiple years of supervisory/managerial experience.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for operational safety, quality, cost and on time delivery of products.
• Coordinate projects and production programs in support of divisional and plant objectives; drive improvements using Eaton tools such as EBS, ELS, EQS, Six Sigma.
• Lead Production Managers; plan, train and develop personnel; enhance organizational capability.
• Establish quality controls with process verification to maintain product quality.
• Provide a safe working environment with compliant facilities, tools and equipment.
• Develop and monitor value streams and goals to improve plant performance.
• Lead cost reduction and throughput improvements; support workplace efficiency.
• Provide leadership in process development, maintenance and continuous improvement to meet stakeholder needs.
