Job summary

Equans is seeking an Operations Manager for our Birmingham team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The role drives operational delivery across Hard and Soft FM for 17 PFI schools, coordinating with Compliance and Lifecycle teams to ensure contract compliance and efficient service delivery.

You will lead frontline teams, manage subcontractors, analyse performance data and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring safeguarding and continuity of teaching environments.

Qualifications

  • Significant operational management experience within Facilities Management.
  • Experience managing both Hard and Soft FM service delivery.
  • Proven track record with KPI, SLA and performance-based regimes.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to obtain DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure contractual obligations, SLAs, and customer expectations are met whilst minimising deductions.
  • Provide leadership to operational teams including frontline managers.
  • Monitor, analyse and improve KPI/SLA trends.
  • Coordinate planned, reactive and lifecycle activities across sites.
  • Manage subcontractors to ensure compliance and performance.
  • Lead incident response and business continuity activities.

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week.
