We are seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and driven individual to join us as an Operations Manager at London Heathrow.

As an Operations Manager, you will lead the team, drive success across all aspects of the Cargo Handling business at Heathrow, set standards, foster team engagement, and continuously improve operations, seeking opportunities for initiatives that contribute to the long-term success of the business.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the team to meet customer service expectations.
  • Liaising with stakeholders to ensure high operational standards.
  • Staff resourcing to match volume fluctuations and demands.
  • Reporting performance metrics to senior management on operational, safety, and financial matters.
  • Ensuring compliance with DfT/CAA requirements and customer-specific standards.
  • Identifying team development needs and coaching staff accordingly.
  • Maintaining effective employee relations through clear communication.
  • Promoting a positive safety and security culture based on JUST principles.
  • Implementing measures to prevent injuries, damages, security incidents, and environmental issues.
  • Ensuring staff are familiar with SOPs, procedures, and work rules.
  • Understanding leadership roles and responsibilities, including delegation in their absence.
  • Meeting QMS requirements and assisting during audits and inspections.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • Proven experience and results as an Operations Manager.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience in compliance management.
  • A strong safety and security ethos.
  • The ability to influence and impact the wider team and business.
  • Air cargo experience is desirable.
