Job Description

Reporting directly to your General Manager, the role of the Operations Manager is to oversee, manage and monitor the daily activities of the team to ensure your area runs smoothly and efficiently.

Working hours:Monday to Friday days, 45 hour week.

Salary:£38,250 per annum.

Key Duties Of a Operations Manager

  • Oversee, manage and monitor the daily activities of the team within your area.
  • Develop, train and support your team to ensure they meet the high standard expected.
  • Keep up to date with all relevant legislation and ensure that regulations, policies and procedures are followed at all times by you and your team eg. WTD, SSWs
  • Ensure the team are aware of their responsibilities in relation to health and safety legislation, data protection and other relevant policies.
  • Analyse the operations of the department to identify bottlenecks and suggest strategies for improvements.
  • Make decisions in the best interests of the Company and for clients and where these decisions cannot be made, escalate the issue immediately to your line manager.
  • Delegate effectively by understanding and tapping into the strengths of your team members.
  • Work closely with other teams to explore ways to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Lead by example.
  • Attend any required training and organise relevant training for the development of your team.
  • Working with the General Manager to determine values and mission for the department.
  • Developing and implementing operational policies and procedures.
  • Promoting a company culture that encourages high morale and top performance.
  • Overseeing daily, weekly and monthly reporting, planning and targets.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Identifying and addressing problems and opportunities for the Company.
  • Encouraging employee communication with the management team.
  • Establishing a culture of continuous business improvement
  • Day to day management of the operations team.
  • Staying up to date with technological changes within the industry and passing this knowledge on to your colleagues.
  • Minimising operation expenditure within the business wherever possible.
  • Advising on issues relating to operational functions and keeping abreast of latest developments to ensure that the Company maintains its competitive position.
  • Always set a personal example with respect to health and safety.
  • Any other duties which might reasonably be requested in association with this role in order to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

  • Previous Operational management experience.
  • Ability to motivate, manage and lead a team.
  • Ability to question, challenge and improve existing processes.
  • Establish effective working relationships across sites.
  • Relevantindustry experience.
  • Be able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise with a calm and flexible approach.
  • Enthusiasm to learn and to progress through experience and training.
  • Excellent planning and time management skills.
