Pollock Scotrans Ltd is recruiting for a Transport Operations Manager based at Bathgate to oversee the transport operations of the locals team and collaborate with other depots. You will manage planning, resources and drive continuous improvement across the operation.

Successful candidates will lead a large team including drivers and office staff, ensuring compliance with drivers hours and WTD regulations, and reporting to senior stakeholders.

Formación

• Experience in the 3PL transport industry.
• Experience in shared user/general haulage sector desirable.
• Understanding of drivers hours and WTD regulations.
• Track record of leading change and making key business decisions.
• Strong analytical ability to review data and reports.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsabilidades

Job Description:

Due to expansion we have a vacancy for a Transport Operations Manager based at Bathgate. This position will be to manage the transport operations of the locals team working closely with other depots.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Management of planning, organising and supervising the activities and resources of the business area.
• Leading a team of circa 150 Drivers and 15 Office Staff.
• Dealing with Key Contacts within our current customer base.
• Identifying peaks and troughs within the Business Area and identify areas of improvement.
• Identifying any areas that are underperforming and put in place profit or performance improvement plans.
• Meeting on a regular basis with Transport Operators and planners to ensure these areas are operating as efficiently as possible.
• Continuous improvement, identifying and developing areas where we can add value to existing contracts.
• Experience in planning and implementation of new contracts and operations.
• Performing 1-2-1's on a regular basis with direct reports.
• Conduct annual PDR interviews with direct reports.
• Monitoring and auditing Health and Safety and compliance.

Requirements:

• Previous experience of working within the 3PL transport industry.
• Previous experience of shared user, general haulage sector highly desirable.
• Have a good understanding of legal compliance, driver's hours and WTD regulations.
• Track record of leading successful change.
• Strong evidence of management skills and making key business decisions.
• Strong influencing skills both internally and externally.
• Strong analytic ability in review data and reports.
• Capability to advise and motivate team to deliver results for the business.
• Ability to present to Senior stakeholders within the business and to external customers.
• Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• IT literate including MS Office.
