Page Personnel's client, a major UK logistics operator, seeks a Transport Manager to oversee two depots, lead ~25 drivers, and ensure compliant transport operations across sites.

You will manage a unionised workforce, maintain operator licence compliance, and drive efficiency with planning and fleet teams. Monday–Friday, with on-call on occasion; company car provided.

Job Description

As Transport Manager, you will take responsibility for the operational oversight of two transport depots, managing a team of approximately 25 drivers and a fleet of vehicles supporting essential distribution activities.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be an experienced transport professional with strong leadership capabilities and a collaborative management style.You will possess:

• Previous experience within transport, logistics, distribution, 3PL, pharmaceutical, retail, or related sectors.
• Strong people management experience with the ability to lead and motivate drivers.
• Knowledge of transport compliance, fleet management, and operator licence requirements.
• Experience managing fleet utilisation and operational performance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A diplomatic and professional approach to conflict resolution and employee relations.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• The confidence to make decisions while building consensus and maintaining positive working relationships.

• Salary of £42,000.

• Additional payment for participation in the on-call rota (approximately 1 week in every 13).
