Job summary

Relay is seeking a Site Manager/Shift Leader to run shifts at Hybrid Sort Centres, directing 50–100+ operatives in high-volume sortation where timing is critical. You’ll own the on-floor leadership, safety, and performance, ensuring daily targets are met and improvements are implemented in real time.

You will be on the floor for your shift, responsible for end-to-end shift planning, people deployment, and maintaining tight control of operations as Relay scales.

Qualifications

• Experience leading frontline teams on a shift-based operation.
• Ability to deploy and manage 50–100 operatives per shift.
• Strong communication and briefing skills for large workforces.

Responsibilities

• Create end-to-end shift plans including deployment, throughput and safety.
• Lead, develop and performance-manage 50–100+ operatives.
• Build and implement controls, cadences, metrics and SOPs.
• Plan ahead for future shifts: labor, training and risks.
• Own end-of-shift handover and communicate risks to next shift.
• Maintain decisiveness during volume peaks, outages, and gaps.
• Present and document briefs, escalations and post-incident reviews.
• Implement changes in live operations (robotics, new tech, client onboarding).
