Job summary

Relay Technologies in the United Kingdom seeks a hands-on Site Manager for Hybrid Sort Centres, leading 50-100+ operatives per shift to ensure high-volume, time-pressured sortation meets deadlines with safety and quality at the forefront.

You will deploy shift plans end-to-end, build controls and metrics, and drive continuous improvements in throughput and accuracy, while coordinating with senior leadership and managing shift handovers.

Qualifications

• Experience leading 50-100+ frontline operatives.
• Proven track record in scaling operations.
• Strong communication with senior leadership.
• Ability to plan labour, training, and risk.

Responsibilities

• Deliver shift plan end to end: people deployment, throughput, quality standards, and health & safety compliance.
• Lead, develop, and manage a frontline team of 50-100+ operatives.
• Build controls, cadences, metrics, SOPs, and drive adoption.
• Plan ahead for future shifts; labour, training, and risk mitigation.
• Own end-of-shift handover; report on status and next-shift needs.
• Triage, solve issues during volume peaks to restore flow quickly.
• Present clear briefs, escalations, and post-incident reviews.
• Implement changes into live operations (robotics, new tech, onboarding clients).
