Job summary

Relay is seeking a hands-on Site/Shift Manager to run shifts at one of our Hybrid Sort Centres in the UK, leading 50–100+ operatives in high-volume sortation where minutes matter. You will be on the floor every shift, accountable for whether the site is measurably better each month on key metrics, and you will implement changes like robotics or new clients while keeping the team aligned and safe.

Qualifications

• Experience leading frontline teams in a fast-paced operation.
• Proven ability to deploy end-to-end shift plans.
• Strong communication and briefings to large groups.
• Ability to implement process improvements on the floor.

Responsibilities

• Deliver shift plan end to end, including people deployment and safety.
• Lead, develop, and performance-manage a frontline team of 50–100+ operatives.
• Build controls, cadences, metrics, SOPs and own adoption.
• Plan ahead for future shifts; labour and training risks.
• Own end-of-shift handover and inform next shift.
• Stay decisive during volume peaks and outages.
• Present clear briefs, escalations and post-incident reviews.
• Roll changes into live operation, including robotics or new clients.
