Job summary

Royal Mail Group’s Gatwick operation seeks a proactive Work Area Manager to lead a busy processing team, ensuring safety, performance and reliable customer service. You will coach colleagues, manage attendance and use data to drive improvements in both automated and manual areas.

Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will set clear priorities, apply performance metrics and collaborate with engineering to maximise equipment availability. This is a full-time role with progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Lead a team in a fast-paced processing environment.
• Coach and develop colleagues with regular feedback.
• Ability to analyse performance data and identify trends.
• Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead a safe and compliant work area, ensuring safety and wellbeing.
• Manage operational performance and deliver workplans and scorecard targets.
• Coach and develop colleagues with regular feedback and build capability.
• Use performance data to identify issues and implement improvements.
• Manage attendance and conduct in line with policies.
• Maintain clear team communication through briefings and one-to-ones.
